*7th Sunday in Ord. Time – 24th February 2019 — Gospel: Luke 6,27-38*
*Keep extending His incredible Grace*
The exhortations – to love your enemies, to do good to those who hate you, to pray for those who mistreat you, to give generously to those who ask of you, and to lend without expecting anything in return, – greatly exceed human expectations. The standards Jesus sets are remarkably high, going far beyond the more accepted standards of doing for others what we would want done for us. The ultimate standard for discipleship is to do what God would do: to be merciful like the Father. To live in God’s kingdom means loving as God loves, caring for others as God cares for them, giving as God gives, forgiving others as God forgives. The generosity and compassion of God is the source and impetus for the ethical deeds of the new disciple of Jesus. The prayer, the good deeds, the blessings, the forgiveness and the generosity that Jesus urges upon his followers are all forms of Christian love. This merciful love is a response to the generosity, the blessings, and the forgiveness God has bestowed on us exclusively. We can only love in this supernatural way because God has extended his grace upon us in such incredible abundance.
பகவரை நேசி, வெறுப்பவருக்கு நன்மை செய், இகழ்பவருக்கு செபி, கேட்பவர்களுக்கு தாராளமாய் கொடு, பிரதிபலன் பாராமல் கடன்கொடு என்ற அறிவுரைகள் மனித எதிர்பார்ப்புகளைக் கடந்ததாய் இருக்கிறது. இங்கு இயேசு நிர்ணயிக்கும் அளவுகோல் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட்ட அளவுகோலைவிட மிக உயர்ந்தது. மற்றவர்கள் நமக்காக எதைச் செய்ய வேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறோமோ அதையே மற்றவர்களுக்கு நாம் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்ற நிலையையும் தாண்டியது. சீடத்துவத்தின் அடிப்படை அளவுகோலே இறைவன் செய்வது போல, அதாவது இறைத்தந்தை கனிவுள்ளவராய் இருப்பது போல, செயல்படுவதாகும். இறையாட்சியில் வாழ்வது என்பது இறைவனைப் போலவே செயல்படுவது: அவரைப் போலவே அன்புசெய்வதும், அடுத்தவர் நலனில் அக்கறையோடு இருப்பதும், மகிழ்ச்சியோடு கொடுப்பதும், முழுமனதோடு மன்னிப்பதும் ஆகும். அறநெறியோடு செயல்பட விரும்பும் இயேசுவின்; சீடர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் இறைவனின் கனிவும் பெருந்தன்மையும் மூலாதாரமாய் உந்துசக்தியாய் திகழ்கின்றன. இயேசு தம் சீடர்களிடம் வலியுறுத்தும் – செபம், நற்செயல், ஆசீர்வாதம், மன்னிப்பு, மற்றும் பெருந்தன்மை இவையெல்லாம் கிறிஸ்தவர்களின் அன்பைப் பிரதிபலிப்பதாகும். இக்கனிவுள்ள அன்பே இறைவன் நமக்கு தனிப்பட்ட விதத்தில் தாராளமனமாக, கொடைகளாக, மன்னிப்பாக, வழங்கும் பதில்மொழி. இந்த அற்புதமான வழியில் மட்டுமே நாம் எல்லோரையும் நேசிக்க முடியும், காரணம், கடவுள் நம்மை அவருடைய வியத்தகு அருளால் நிறைத்திருப்பதால்.
