GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 9:35-10:1,5-8

Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.

One of the basic beliefs of the Israelites was that all what they had were gifts given by God. Their lives; their faith; their land and all the produce were divine gifts. They had nothing to boast of anything of their own. In fact this was the basis for their offerings particularly of the first fruits.

Jesus communicates the same idea to his listeners and disciples. Added to their natural gifts Jesus also has given them authority over unclean spirits and sicknesses. Above all they were also given the gift of the kingdom. It was their duty to give all these as gifts to others.

கொடையாகப் பெற்றீர்கள்@ கொடையாகவே வழங்குங்கள்

உலகிலுள்ள அனைத்தும் இறைவனின் கொடைகள். இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு கொடுக்கும் அதிகாரம்@ தூய ஆவி@ குணமளிக்கும் ஆசீர் அனைத்தும் கொடைகளே. அவர்கள் இவற்றை கொடையாக கொடுக்க வேண்டும்.

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 9:27-31

“Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him.

God can do all things (All things are possible for God.” – Mk 10:27). However the faith of the individual is also essential. Men of faith receive all what they believe (Everything is possible to one who has faith.” Mk 9:23). Miracles happen to those who believe that miracle will happen. Belief in God and a belief that God can do mighty deeds are essential for the miracles.

In the Gospels, we see Jesus as always associating with the people who are in need of help and assistance (sick, blind, lame etc.). He is also associating with the people of faith. His ministry becomes meaningful among the people of want and faith. Faith is the essential requirement for his works.

இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து> ‘நான் இதைச் செய்ய முடியும் என நம்புகிறீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்> ‘ஆம்> ஐயா” என்றார்கள்.

இயேசுவின் இறையாட்சி செயல்களுக்கு மக்களின் நம்பிக்கை அடிப்படையானது. இயேசு எப்போதும் ஏழைகள்> நோயாளிகளை தேடிச்சென்றார். இந்த மக்களிடம் நம்பிக்கை இருந்தால் அவர் அரும் அடையாளங்களைச் செய்தார். ஏனெனில் கடவுளால் எல்லாம் கூடும் (மாற் 10:27) அதோடு நம்பிக்கை உள்ளவனுக்கு எல்லாம் நிகழும் (மாற் 9:23).
