Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 7:36-8:3

Your sins are forgiven.

Jesus has entered the house of a Pharisee and he is seated with Pharisees for a meal. Pharisees keep their houses clean and also keep it free from sinners. Here a sinner has entered the house of a Pharisee because of Jesus. The Pharisees could question only Jesus. The Pharisees were wondering at the happenings at the arrival of a sinner into the house.

The woman never spoke a word in the assembly of men. But all her actions spoke volumes. Her tears, her anointing and her wiping spoke words. Similar action Jesus also did in the Gospel of John to his disciples. Could we Jesus in the place of this woman? But probably because of this action we can see the woman in the place of Jesus.

‘உம் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன”

அந்தப் பெண்; பேசவே இல்லை. ஆனால் அவள் செயல்கள் பேசின. இயேசு சீடர்களின் பாதங்களை கழுவியதால் சீடர்கள் தூய்மை அடைந்தார்கள். இந்தப் பெண் பாதங்களை கழுவியதால் பாவங்கள் கழுவப்பட்டன. பாதங்களை கழுவும் செயல் (பிறர்முன் குனிதல்> பிறர் பாதங்களை தொடுதல்> கழுவுதல்> துடைத்தல்) புனிதத்தை கொடுக்கிறது.

Do not swear at all

People swear to confirm something to be right or true. It is also because the people to whom one swears believes in the thing on which one swears. People swear on heaven or earth or children or on themselves. This also shows that both the parties do not believe in themselves and they need the security of something other than themselves.

Jesus tells clearly that swearing is wrong and swearing by anything is wrong because all things belong to God and he has created all things and they all belong to him. God has control over everything. Man has to speak of only right things and facts. He can only be factual. Anything which he speaks other than this needs confirmation and verification and that will in turn have the need of swearing.

ஆணையிடவே வேண்டாம்.

ஆணையிடுதல் என்பது ஒருவர் தன்மீது கொண்டுள்ள குறைவான நம்பிக்கையை அல்லது பிறர் அவர் மீது கொண்டுள்ள குறைவான நம்பிக்கையை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. ஆணையிடுதல் வழியாக தான் சொல்லுவதை உறுதிப்படுத்துகிறார். பிற பொருள்கள்மீது ஆணையிடுதல் தவறு; ஏனெனில் அவை அணைத்தும் கடவுளால் படைக்கப்பட்டவை; அவருக்கே சொந்தம்.
