Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 17:5-10

Many times, people argue saying that the faith is little and the faith is not sufficient etc. People are worried about the quantity of faith and the size of the faith. Yet the question is whether they have faith in God at all. Their faith is on something else than on God. Faith even to the size of a mustard seed should be placed on God and God only, then things will happen beyond the expectations.

Another shocking lesson to the apostles is regarding the work done for God. Many times the apostles, and so also we, feel that we have done enough for God. How many of us say that we have done more than expected. How often we hear that we have done hard work etc. We should realize that we never put God in our debt however hard we might have worked. All genuine work done to God is done out of gratitude and not to earn anything from God.

நம்பிக்கையை மிகுதியாக்கும் என்பதைவிட கடவுள் மிகப்பெரியவர் என்பதே உண்மை. இந்தப் பெரிய கடவுளிடம் சிறிய நம்பிக்கை இருந்தாலும் போதும் பயன்கள் பெரிதாக இருக்கும்.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 10:17-24

The seventy two returned. Not even one was lost. They were happy and rejoicing because they found fulfilment in their ministry. Their mission was successful. They were not happy because they founded a church or they had their own followers or they were rewarded for their works or they did not bring back their earning etc. They were rejoicing because of the name (of Jesus) and the success because of the name.

Jesus replied them and confirmed their experience by saying that evil have no power over them. Because their power was in the name of Jesus. Jesus name was so powerful that evil would not harm them. Added reason for their rejoicing was their name was written in heaven. They rejoiced because of the name of Jesus and Jesus told them to rejoice because of their own names written in heaven.

சீடர்கள் இயேசுவின் பெயரில் மகிழ்ச்சி கண்டார்கள்> அந்த பெயரின் சக்தியில் மகிழ்ச்சி கண்டார்கள். இயேசுவின் பெயர் தீமையின்மேல் சக்தி கொண்டிருந்தது. பெயரின் வல்லமையை அவர்கள் கண்டார்கள். இயேசு அதற்கு மாறாக அவர்களுடைய பெயர்கள் விண்ணகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன என்பதே மகிழ்ச்சிக்கு காரணமாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று கூறுகிறார்.
