Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 14:23-29

Jesus is travelling between the world and the Father. This happened once with a specific mission (For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.- Jn 3:16). The Father sent him and he completed his mission and that was not the end of his journey. He went back to the father to comeback.

His second coming only proves that all what he did in his first journey did not go wasted. The disciples should not be worried or troubled to see him go. He was going to leave them orphan. He would sent the Holy Spirit who would continue the work and activities of Jesus. His going to the Father is also assured by his coming back.

இயேசு உலகிலிருந்து தந்தையிடமும்@ தந்தையிடமிருந்து உலகிற்கும் பயணிக்கிறார். அவர் இல்லாத காலத்தில் தூய ஆவியானவர் இருக்கிறார். ஆகவேதான் நீங்கள் உள்ளம் கலங்க வேண்டாம்@ மருள வேண்டாம் என்று கூறுகிறார். இயேசுவின் பிரசன்னம் எப்போதும் உண்டு.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 15:18-21

There are two groups of people. One (group) is those who follow Jesus and the other is those who belong to the world and live according to the standard of the world. These two groups have their point of reference as Jesus. Jesus becomes the criteria. God is not made a reference point in this argument.

The group that is in the world and of the world reacts to Jesus and his followers. Their reactions are of two types. One is that they listen to Jesus. The other reaction is that they hate Jesus and persecute Jesus. The group that belongs to the world will do the same thing to the disciples. They will hate them and persecute them. The followers should be ready for this.

உலகில் இரண்டு குழு மக்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். ஓன்று இயேசுவின் சீடர்கள்@ மற்றொன்று இவ்வுலகை சார்ந்தவர்கள். இவ்வுலகைச் சார்ந்த கூட்டம் எப்பொழுதும் இயேசுவுக்கும் அவருடைய சீடருக்கும் எதிர்செயல்கள் செய்துகொண்டிருப்பார்கள். ஆகவே சீடனும் இயேசுவைப்போல் வெறுக்கப்படுவார்கள்@ துன்புறுத்தப்படுவார்கள்.
