Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 1:39-45

Mary travelled. In the gospels we see Mary travelling quite a few times. She traveled to Bethlehem and them to Jerusalem (quite a many times). She also journeyed to Egypt. Within Galilee she traveled to Cana and to the places where Jesus was preaching. She also made the same journey to Calvary as her son did.

Her journey had a specific purpose. She did not go to a place without any purpose. Here she traveled to Judea to be of use to her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was in need of assistance. Much more she was in need of her presence. A presence of blessing and that was what she experienced.

மரியா பயணிக்கிறாள். அவருடைய பயணம் ஒரு நோக்கத்தோடுதான் இருந்தது. எலிசபெத்தை சந்தித்து அவரை வாழ்த்தினார். அங்கு மரியா ஏறக்குறைய மூன்று மாதம் எலிசபெத்தோடு தங்கியிருந்து பணிசெய்து உதவினார் அதன் பின்பு தம் வீடு திரும்பினார். பணிவிடையை விட அவரது உடனிருப்பு ஒரு ஆசீராக பேருவகை தருவதாக இருந்தது.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 1:39-45

Believing people are blessed people. They believe in the word of God. They believe in the promises of God. God is faithful is the basis of their faith. God has made promises to the forefathers. All the promises that were made God is being fulfilled. Belief in this is the basis of blessedness.

Blessedness of Mary is cried out by Elizabeth. Mary had a vision of angel who told her about the birth of Jesus and John. But Elizabeth did not have such a knowledge. (It was told only to Zachariah about eh birth of John and even he did not get any information about the birth of Jesus). Elizabeth heard it or felt it from her child. Blessedness of Mary was an experience for Elizabeth.

மரியா பேறுபெற்றவர் என்று எலிசபெத் கூறுகிறாள். நம்பிக்கை உள்ள மக்கள் அனைவரும் பேறுபெற்றவர். அதாவது இறைவார்த்தையில் நம்பிக்கை உள்ள மக்கள் பேறுபெற்றவர்கள். இறைவன் கூறும் வாக்குறுதிகள் அனைத்தும் நிறைவேறும் என்ற வார்த்தையில் நம்பிக்கை உள்ள மக்கள் பேறுபெற்றவர்கள். மரியா அதற்கு ஒரு முன் அடையாளம்.
