Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:5-13

Friendship is the best of all relationship. One can be what he wants in friendship. Friends understand each other even in the worst of situation. In time of need one will run to his friend first before asking for help from others. Friends can be disturbed at anytime for anything.

In this story friend does not want to be disturbed. He does not want to disturb the family. Friend from within the house is less friendly than the friend who stands at the door step. But he assists because of persistence. Persistence goes beyond friendship and relationship.

நண்பர்களுக்கு எப்போதும் எங்கேயும் தொல்லை கொடுக்கலாம். நண்பர்களிடையே தொல்லை என்பது இல்லை. தேவையில் கைகொடுப்பவன்தான் நண்பன். ஆனால்> இந்த கதையில் நண்பன் கைகொடுக்கவில்லை. விடாய்பிடியாய் கொடுக்கப்படும் தொல்லை நட்பையும்கூட தாண்டி உதவுகிறது.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:1-4

The masters always taught their disciples to pray. Any religious group teaches prayers to the people who belong to it. Teaching someone to pray is an essential element. But most of the time the disciples or followers are taught to pray as they enter into the religion or group. Here Jesus was with the disciples for some time but he did not teach them prayers. They saw the example of Jesus and they themselves asked Jesus to teach them to pray.

The prayer which Jesus taught them was a simple expression of faith in God. He taught them just one prayer only. The prayer expressed praise and honour to God and His name. It expressed God’s continued and daily providence. There is a request for forgiveness and protection in prayer.

ஏல்லாத் தலைவர்களும்> எல்லாச் சபைகளும் தங்கள் சீடர்களுக்குச் செபிக்கக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தார்கள். செபத்தைக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தல் முதல்ப்பணியாக இருந்தது. இங்கு இயேசு தானாக கற்றுக் கொடுக்கவில்லை. இயேசு செபிப்பதை பார்த்த சீடர்கள் செபிக்கக் கற்றுக் கொடுக்க கேட்கிறார்கள். இயேசுவும் ஒரே ஒரு செபம் கற்றுக் கொடுத்தார்.
