GOSPEL READING: LUKE 9:46-50

Does Jesus mean that child friendly people are God friendly people? He says that receiving a child is receiving Jesus and that in turn mean receiving God. Children depend on elders. Children do not argue. They only have needs and wants. Does Jesus identify himself with a child? For he says: ‘whoever receives a child receives me’.

‘Least among you is the greatest’. Any institution or organization or structure works on the principles of ‘greatest’, ‘least’. It is very obvious that Jesus was not bothered about institution/organization/structure. He was interested in people/person. Every person is important and there is no distinction among persons. Each person has his own worth and value. That is why Jesus equated ‘greatest’ with ‘least’.

சிறுவர்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறவர்கள் கடவுளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள். சிறுபிள்ளைகள் கடவுளைக் போன்றவர்கள். இயேசுவும் தன்னை அவர்களோடு ஒப்பட்டுக் கொள்கிறார்.

GOSPEL READING: MARK 9: 38-43,45,47-48

The attitudes of Jesus and John are quite interesting and they also opposing. Jesus’ attitude is all inclusive where as John’s attitude is very exclusive. Besides this, John considers the work of Jesus as a privilege and private. John sees Jesus as someone belonging to him and others have no right over even his name. Jesus’ attitude is that if someone is casting demons out by mentioning the name of Jesus then he is honouring the name.

Hand, feet and eyes are precious parts of one’s body. Hands refer to the activity of any person; feet refer to the way of life; eyes refer to the vision of life. If any person’s (disciple’s) activity or way of life or vision of life does not fit into that of God’s activity or way of life or vision then it is as good as being lost.

இயேசுவின் மனநிலை எல்லாரையும் உள்ளடக்கக்கூடிய மனநிலை. யோவானின் மனநிலை அதற்கு எதிர்மறையானது. இயேசுவின் பணியோ வாழ்வோ யாருக்கும் தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் வழங்கப்படவில்லை அது எல்லாருக்கும் பொதுவானது. ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனின் கை> கால்> கண் போன்றவை அவனுடைய பணி வாழ்வு> அவன் நடந்து செல்லும் வாழ்வுமுறை> அவனுடைய வாழ்க்கை குறிக்கோள் போன்றவற்றை குறிக்கும். இவைகள் இறையாட்சி சார்ந்தவைகளாக இல்லை என்றால் அவைகளை இழப்பது நல்லது.
