GOSPEL READING: LUKE 4:38-44
In this passage there is a summary statement of the healing ministry done by Jesus. (He laid his hands on each of them and cured them. And demons also came out). There is no individual description of what he had done except in the case of Simon’s mother-in-law. As part of his kingdom ministry he was healing the sick and was casting out the demons. He was making the people whole and freed them from evil.
People wanted to hold him for themselves and they tried to prevent him from leaving them. They wanted him to continue his ministry only for them. But the kingdom is all inclusive and all pervading. Kingdom has no restrictions and limitation. And that was the reason why Jesus said that ‘to the other towns also I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God’.
இயேசுவின் இறையாட்சிப் பணி மக்களுக்கு உடல் நலம் கொடுப்பதிலும் தீய ஆவிகளிலிருந்து அவர்களை விடுவிப்பதிலும் அடங்கியிருந்தது. முழு மனிதனாதல் (நலம் பெறுதல்) விடுதலையடைதல் (தீய ஆவியிலிருந்து) இவை இரண்டும் இறையாட்சிப் பணிகள். மேலும் இறையாட்சிப் பணியானது எல்லாரையும் உள்ளடக்கக் கூடியது. (திரளான மக்கள் அவரைத் தேடிச் சென்றனர்@ அவரிடம் வந்து சேர்ந்ததும் தங்களைவிட்டுப் போகாதவாறு அவரைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தப் பார்த்தனர். அவரோ அவர்களிடம்> ‘நான் மற்ற ஊர்களிலும் இறையாட்சியைப் பற்றி நற்செய்தி அறிவிக்க வேண்டும்@ இதற்காகவே நான் அனுப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறேன்”).
