GOSPEL READING: MARK 6:7-13

The disciples were sent out to preach repentance and do the activities of the kingdom: to heal the sick and to drive out the demons. They were given instructions for the journey as well. They were not to stay long in any one place. They have to be on the move. The disciples were to be nomads (in a sense) and settlers. It is a life of journey with the mission.

They should not linger in any place trying to win them over or convince them. If they are not welcomed in anyone place; they should move on to another. They should shake off the dust: even the dust of that place should not be with them. If a place does not accept their preaching and the message of the kingdom then the disciples should have nothing to do with them: not even dust.

சீடர்கள் இறையாட்சி பணிக்காக அனுப்பப்படும்போது இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு தீமைக்கு எதிராக அதிகாரம் கொடுக்கிறார்@ பயணத்தின்போது மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டிய ஒழுங்குகள் தருகிறார். அவர்களுடைய போதனைகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாத ஊர்களிலிருந்து வெளியேறும்போது கால்களில் படிந்துள்ள தூசியை உதறிவிடுங்கள் என்று இயேசு கூறுகிறார். கால் தூசி கூட உடனிருக்கக் கூடாது.

11.07.2015 TRUST IN GOD

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 10: 24-33

The disciples are asked by Jesus not to be worried about men who are around. Instead they are asked to trust in God who is within and in all. Men who are outside the disciples can only speak ill of them (they have done so with Jesus); they can only destroy the externals (those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul).

Disciples should be persons who proclaim from the house tops; announcers in the open; not worried about anything that happens to them. God takes care of every need of theirs. Even their hairs are taken care of by God (no one will know when the hair falls or when he loses them; but God takes care of even those unnoticeable things). Such a God is the God whom we believe in so trust and go ahead says Jesus to his disciples.
