Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 12:49-53

Jesus is the prince of peace and came into this world to bring peace and peace between God and the people. But today’s sayings seem to be just the opposite of his entire mission. How could we understand this? Or what did Jesus intend to say through these sayings or what did the author want to say through these?

It seems that the author wants to say that the saying of Prophet Micah 7:6 is being fulfilled in the person of Jesus (For the son dishonors his father, the daughter rises up against her mother, The daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man’s enemies are those of his household). Through this passage the prophet is warning the people of the imminent crisis and urges that the only way forward is complete trust in God.

இயேசுவின் இந்த கூற்று சற்று வேறுபட்டதாகத் தோன்றுகிறது. அவரது பணியும் வாழ்வும் அமைதியை கொண்டுவரத்தான் பின் ஏன் இந்த போதனை. மீக்கா இறைவாக்கினர் 7:6 கூறுகிறது: ஏனெனில்> மகன் தன் தந்தையை அவமதிக்கின்றான்@ மகள் தன் தாய்க்கு எதிராக எழும்புகின்றாள்> மருமகள்> தன் மாமியாரை எதிர்க்கின்றாள்@ ஒருவரின் பகைவர் அவரது வீட்டில் உள்ளவரே ஆவர். இறைவாக்கினர் இறைவன் மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைக்க அழைக்கிறார்.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 12:39-48

Everyone is like Peter in one way or the other. Everyone wonders whether the teaching is meant for oneself or for the other. And everyone prefers that the teaching is meant for the other. Everyone thinks that he is right and just and there is nothing wrong with himself.

Jesus’ parable is meant for everyone especially for those who are in charge of the others (“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the master will put in charge of his servants to distribute food allowance at the proper time?). They have to do their work dutifully and should be ready always (accountable for the work given).

ஆண்டவரின் உவமை எல்லாருக்கும்தான் சீடர்களுக்கும் கூட. அவர்கள் கடமை உணர்வோடு பணி செய்யவேண்டும். அவர்களும் ஆயத்தமாய் இருங்க வேண்டும் ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் நினையாத நேரத்தில் மானிடமகன் வருவார்.
