Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: Mt 13:44-52

The truths about the kingdom of heaven are mysteries. They are revealed through parables. Though they are mysteries yet they are not unimaginable. They are not beyond our grasps. They can be imagined and communicated through stories and realities of this world. They are like seeds sown in the fields; they are like mustard seeds; they are like leaven etc.

Another truth about the kingdom is that it is like a treasure. Treasures are always hidden and they are buried. They are not easily visible and available. Anyone who wants to possess this treasure will not make it known to everyone until he buys it. He will be ready to sacrifice anything and everything to possess the kingdom. Kingdom is a treasure that demands sacrifice.

Yet another truth about the kingdom is that it is like a fishing net that hauls all sorts of fish. There are varieties of fish and there are also good ones and bad ones. Good fish and bad fish live together and they are hauled in to the same net (kingdom). It is at the end of times that they are separated. No net hauls only good fish. Kingdom is not the place of only good people. Kingdom will also have evil ones. But it is at the end of times that they are separated.

இறையாட்சி புதையலைப் போன்றது. மறைத்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றது. ஏளிதில் காணமுடியாதது. அதை அடைய முயலுபவன் பலவற்றை இழக்கவேண்டும். அதேபோல் இறையாட்சியில் நல்லவர்களும் தீயவர்களும் இருப்பார்கள்.

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 13:24-30

The goodness of God and the generosity of God are seen in this parable. Also his tenderness towards the good (if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them) is visible. He does in no way want to harm the good. God is completely on the side of the good and totally against the evil yet he does not want disturb any.

This parable also reveals the mystery of life. Life is a mixture of good and evil and as believers all of us know that good comes from God and certainly evil does not come from God. The source of evil is not known (enemy has done it). Evil will be there until the end of time.

இந்த உவமையில் தந்தையாகிய கடவுளின் பண்புகள் சிறப்பாக வெளிப்படுத்தபடுகின்றன. தந்தை மிகவும் நல்லவர்@ தாராளகுணமுள்ளவர்@ அவர் தீமையைக்கூட வெறுக்காதவர் (களைகளைப் பறிக்கும்போது அவற்றோடு சேர்த்துக் கோதுமையையும் நீங்கள் பிடுங்கிவிடக்கூடும்). வாழ்வு ஒரு மறைபொருள் என்ற உண்மையும் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.
