Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 15:9-17

As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.

Love of the Father for Jesus is seen in his love for the world. Both the loves are intertwined. God so love the world that he sent his son into the world. Love of the Father for Jesus was expressed in his commission of Jesus for the redemption of the world. Jesus accepted the love of the Father that he was ready to go any extent to love the Father in return.

Jesus loved his disciples in the same way would only mean that the disciples should be ready to sacrifice themselves for the redemption of the world. Since the disciples are loved by Jesus (as the Father loved him) they should in turn be ready to be like Jesus to sacrifice themselves for the redemption of the world.

நற்செய்தி வாசகம்: யோவான்; 15:9-17

என் தந்தை என் மீது அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளதுபோல நானும் உங்கள்மீது அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளேன். என் அன்பில் நிலைத்திருங்கள்.

தந்தை இயேசுவின் மீது கொண்டுள்ள அன்பு அளவிடமுடியாதது. அந்த அன்பினால்த்தான் தந்தை இயேசுவை உரிமையோடு உலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார். இயேசுவும் அதே உரிமையோடு சீடர்களோடு உறவுகொண்டுள்ளார். இயேசு சீடர்கள்மீது கொண்டுள்ள அன்பு அதே உரிமையோடுதான். சீடர்கள் தங்களையே உலக மீட்புக்காக அழிக்க தயாராக இருக்கும் நிலைதான் இயேசு அவர்கள் மீது கொண்டுள்ள அன்பு.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 16:29-33

But I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Jesus came into this world to rebuild the relationship with the Father. He wanted the people to reconcile with God and united with him. He started to form a small community of disciples and he taught them everything about thee Father and revealed his own relationship with the Father as model of relationship. Sad story is that His disciples left him alone and ran away.

His firm conviction that the Father was with him sustained him at the moment of loneliness and neglect. The disciples left him one by one and as a group leaving him alone. His faith in the Father and the presence of the Father carried him through even at the moment of death on the cross. This is also a model for the followers that God the Father will always be with his people.

ஆயினும் நான் தனியாய் இருப்பதில்லை. தந்தை என்னோடு இருக்கிறார்.

இயேசுவின் அடித்தள நம்பிக்கைகளில் ஒன்று கடவுளின் உடனிருப்பு. இயேசு இவ்வுலகிற்கு வந்தது இறைபிரசன்னத்தை வெளிப்படுத்த. ஆதை அவரே வாழ்ந்து காட்டுகிறார். உலகு முழுவதுமே ஒருவரை தனிமைப்படுத்தினாலும் தந்தையாகிய கடவுள் தன்னோடு இருக்கிறார் என்ற நம்பிக்கை அவசியம்.
