GOSPEL READING: LUKE 24:46-53

You are witnesses of these things.

The disciples are called to be witnesses. They are not merely proclaiming and announcing the truth about the kingdom. It is true they are called to announce the kingdom but they do not announce as outsiders. They have to speak only what they have seen and heard. For this they should have had experience.

They are witnesses of the suffering of Jesus. They have to bear witness to the resurrection, ascension, and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Besides these they are to be witnesses of repentance and forgiveness of sins. From the side of God they bear witness to all the godly things and from the side of God they are witnesses to repentance and forgiveness.

சீடர்கள் சாட்சிகளாக இருக்கவேண்டும் மேலும் சாட்சிகளாக வாழவேண்டும். இயேசுவின் பாடுகளுக்கு, இறப்புக்கு, உயிர்ப்புக்கு, விண்ணேற்ப்புக்கு, தூய ஆவியின் வருகைக்கு, மனம்திரும்புதலுக்கு, பாவமன்னிப்புக்கு சாட்சிகளாக இருக்க வேண்டும். இவைகளெல்லாம் அனுபவங்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும். அனுபவங்களின் அறிவிப்பே சாட்சியம்.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 16:23b-28

Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

Name has power. Name is equal to the person and the name reveals the character of the person. To know the name is to know the person and also to have control over the person. One can manipulate the name of the person for his own gain. Here Jesus says that to ask the Father in his name is to know Jesus and have true and good relationship with him.

Father loves Jesus for definite. He loves also the disciples. The reason for this love is because the disciples love Jesus and also they believe that Jesus has come from the Father. The disciples accept the divine origin of Jesus and the divine commission for the mission of Jesus on this earth.

நீங்கள் என் பெயரால் தந்தையிடம் கேட்பதையெல்லாம் அவர் உங்களுக்குத் தருவார் என உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.

இயேசுவின் பெயரால் கேட்பதையெல்லாம் தந்தை தருவார். பெயரில் சக்தி உண்டு. பெயர் அந்த நபரை தன்னுள் கொண்டுள்ளது. பெயரில் அந்த நபருடைய குணங்கள் உண்டு. பெயரில் (பெயரால்) வேண்டும்போது அந்த நபரே வேண்டுவது போல. இயேசு கேட்பதையெல்லாம் தந்தை தருவார் அதேபோல் அவர் பெயரால் கேட்பதையும் தந்தை தருவார்.
