Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 14:21-26

And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”

To love Jesus is essential to be in right relationship with God. Loving Jesus is equal to loving the Father. One cannot be worried about saying that he does not love God or does not know the Father etc. Jesus has become the criteria for loving God and being with God and belonging to God.

To love Jesus is to keep and observe the commandments. Jesus has left us with only one commandment. At least that is what he speaks in this context of John chapter 14. It is love. It is commandment of love. It is not rules and regulations and rubrics. That is why following Jesus is called religion of love.

என்மீது அன்பு கொள்பவர்மீது தந்தையும் அன்பு கொள்வார். நானும் அவர் மீது அன்பு கொண்டு அவருக்கு என்னை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்”.

இயேசுவின் மீது அன்பு கொள்தல் அடித்தளமானது அவசியமானது. இயேசுவின் மீது அன்பு கொள்தல் இருந்தால் அதுவே இயேசுவின் கட்டளைகளை நிறைவு செய்வதாகும். அவரது கட்டளையும் அன்புதான். அவரது வேதமும் அதுவே.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 13:31-35

Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

God is glorified in the Son of Man. Glory of the Son of Man is the glory of God. This will also be true for everyman. God will be glorified in everyone. So every human being also should be glorified. Jesus made this statement when Judas left to betray Jesus and thus begin the crucifixion and death and resurrection of Jesus. When everyone is glorified in his personal paschal celebration then he is glorified and through him god is glorified.

The disciples should practice the commandment of love while they are on this earth. This is the only identity for the disciples. They should not try to reach the place where he has gone because they will not be able to reach. Instead they should try to be his disciples where ever they are. Being a disciple of love is far greater than trying to reach the place where Jesus is.

இப்போது மானிடமகன் மாட்சி பெற்றுள்ளார். அவர் வழியாகக் கடவுளும் மாட்சிபெற்றுள்ளார்.

மானிடமகன் மாட்சியில்; கடவுளும் மாட்சிபெற்றுள்ளார். அதேபோல் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் மாட்சி பெரும்போது கடவுளும் மாட்சி பெறுவார் என்று சொல்லலாம். மனிதன் மாட்சிபெற அவனும் தனது பாஸ்காவை நிகழச்செய்ய வேண்டும். இயேசுவை சென்றடைய ஒரே வழி: அன்பு வழி.
