GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 7:7-12

If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children,

People who are wicked give good gifts to those who are close to them. There is no one who is wicked cent percent. There is some goodness present even in the wicked people. Even the worst of criminals have some percentage (minimum) of goodness in them. The believing community should create an occasion for him to grow in goodness.

Creatures, which turned wicked because of their sin, still possess some goodness in them to show that they are from a good God. Creator God should be cent percent Good (only good) and he can only bring goodness out of his treasures. No evil will find place in his plans, whishes and actions. He is the sum total of all goodness and goodness can only come forth from him.

தீயோர்களாகிய நீங்களே உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நற்கொடைகள் அளிக்க அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.

நல்லவராகிய இறைவன் நல்லவற்றையே படைத்தான். சுதந்தரத்தை கொடையாகப்பெற்ற மனிதன் தவறினான். தவறியவன் (தீயோன்) நன்மைகள் பல செய்கிறான். தீயோனே நன்மைகள் செய்யும் போது நல்லவனாகிய கடவுள் நன்மைகள் மட்டும் தான் செய்வார். நன்மையின் முழுமையே அவர்தான்.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:29-32

so will the Son of Man be to this generation.

The activities of Jesus would be like that of Jonah and Solomon. Jesus was the son of Man but his activities were similar to that of Jonah. Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites and the people understood and accepted him as a sign. Jesus only wonders at the hardness of the hearts of the present world that they are not able to understand.

People longed to hear Solomon for his wisdom. People understood the prophecy and the signs of Jonah. Jesus is like them but also greater than them. People should have understood his preaching and message and sign. But this generation refuses to understand and accept and that is the reason Jesus calls this generation as evil generation.

யோனா நினிவே மக்களுக்கு அடையாளமாய் இருந்தார். சாலமோனின் ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க உலகின் கடைக்கோடியிலிருந்து தென்னாட்டு அரசி வந்தார். ஆனால் இங்கு இங்கிருப்பவர் இவர்களை எல்லாம்விட பெரியவர். இவர்களின் அடையாளங்களையும் ஞானத்தையும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டவர்கள் இயேசுவை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை.
