Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 9:27-31

“Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they said to him.

God can do all things (All things are possible for God.” – Mk 10:27). However the faith of the individual is also essential. Men of faith receive all what they believe (Everything is possible to one who has faith.” Mk 9:23). Miracles happen to those who believe that miracle will happen. Belief in God and a belief that God can do mighty deeds are essential for the miracles.

In the Gospels, we see Jesus as always associating with the people who are in need of help and assistance (sick, blind, lame etc.). He is also associating with the people of faith. His ministry becomes meaningful among the people of want and faith. Faith is the essential requirement for his works.

இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, ‘நான் இதைச் செய்ய முடியும் என நம்புகிறீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவர்கள், ‘ஆம், ஐயா” என்றார்கள்.

இயேசுவின் இறையாட்சி செயல்களுக்கு மக்களின் நம்பிக்கை அடிப்படையானது. இயேசு எப்போதும் ஏழைகள், நோயாளிகளை தேடிச்சென்றார். இந்த மக்களிடம் நம்பிக்கை இருந்தால் அவர் அரும் அடையாளங்களைச் செய்தார். ஏனெனில் கடவுளால் எல்லாம் கூடும் (மாற் 10:27) அதோடு நம்பிக்கை உள்ளவனுக்கு எல்லாம் நிகழும் (மாற் 9:23).

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 7:21,24-27

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Membership of the kingdom is discussed here. All stand at the entrance of the kingdom but entry is not sure. A kingdom which is all inclusive; a kingdom which is open; a kingdom which is a movement has its restriction rather has its free entry point. It is a sure and secure entry.

All those who pray need not have an entry (Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven). All those who prophecy need have an entry (Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name?). All the miracle workers may not enter (Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?). Those who listen to the word of God and act accordingly will have sure and secure entry into the kingdom.

‘என்னை நோக்கி ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே| எனச் சொல்பவரெல்லாம் விண்ணரசுக்குள் செல்வதில்லை. மாறாக> விண்ணுலகிலுள்ள என் தந்தையின் திருவுளத்தின்படி செயல்படுபவரே செல்வர்.

இறையாட்சியில் எல்லாருக்கும் இடமுண்டு. அது எல்லாரையும் எல்லாவற்றையும் உள்ளடக்கக்கூடிய ஒரு இயக்கம். அந்த இயக்கத்தில் அங்கத்தினராவதற்கு ஒரே ஒரு அடிப்படையான பண்பு தேவை: இறைவார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு அதன்படி நடப்பதே. ஜெபித்தல், இறைவாக்கு சொல்லுதல், அரும் அடையாளங்கள் செய்தல் எல்லாம் தேவை, ஆனால் இவைகளைவிட அடிப்படையானது: இறைவார்த்தையை கேட்டு நடப்பதே.
