Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: MARK 10.17-30

Jesus came into the world to reveal God and to establish God’s kingdom on the earth. In revealing God he has said, in today’s passage, two things. ‘No one is good but God alone’. Again he has said that ‘all things are possible for God’. God is good and God can do only good and everything that is done by God is good. At creation God found everything very good.

God is all powerful and everything is possible for God. Salvation is not possible by humans. Salvation is a gift from God and it totally the work of God. Discipleship is acknowledging and accepting these qualities of God and living the life in gratitude to God. Leaving everything earthly and following Jesus on earth is also acknowledging God and God’s kingdom.

கடவுளை இவ்வுலகிற்கு வெளிப்படுத்தவும்> இறையாட்சியை நிறுவவுமே இயேசு இவ்வுலகிற்கு வந்தார். கடவுள் ஒருவரைத் தவிர நல்லவர் எவருமில்லை என்பதை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். அதோடுகூட கடவுளால் எல்லாம் இயலும் என்பதையும் வெளிப்படுதினார். இவ்வுலகில் எல்லாவற்றையும் துறந்து> இயேசுவை இவ்வுலகில் பின்செல்பவன்தான் உண்மை சீடன்.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:27-28

Jesus’ preaching and the amount of miracles that he was doing brought out a cry of admiration from the crowd. Being a woman probably she recognized the role of a mother much more than anyone else in the crowd. A mother played an important role in the success of the child. Even before the child is born the mother forms the child in the womb. After birth the child forms the child through care concern etc.

Jesus’ reply in no way belittles his mother rather enhances her way of life. More than the care, concern and protection of the mother, it is the word of God and obedience to the word of God that makes one blessed. Word of God is at work in him and he indirectly tells the people to be his disciples. Mary was the first and the best disciple of the word.

இயேசுவின் பேச்சும் அரும் அடையாளச் செயல்களும் மக்களை ஆச்சரியத்திற்கு உட்படுத்தியது. கருவில் பராமரித்து பிறந்தபின் வளர்த்த தாய்க்கே பெறுமை. ஆனால் இயேசு உருவாக்கும் இறையாட்சியில் இறைவார்த்தை ஒன்றுக்குத்தான் மதிப்பும் பெறுமையும். இறைவார்த்தையை ஏற்று> இறைவார்த்தைக்கு கீழ்படிந்து நடப்பவரே பேறுபெற்றவர்.
