GOSPEL READING: LUKE 21:5-19

By your perseverance you will secure your lives.

Temple was the most beautiful building one could imagine. It was decorated and adorned by the skill and love of hundreds of years. It was occupying the central place in the national life and religion. It would be unthinkable for a devout Jew to hear of the destruction of the temple because the temple signified a thousand years of God’s dealings with Israel.

The disciples of Jesus are going to face problems because Jesus is not going to be with them. Some will pretend to be Jesus and there will be wars, revolutions and alarming events. The disciples will be undesirables. But Jesus’ promises of his presence in wisdom and speech are precious.

கவின் மிகு கற்களாலும், நேர்ச்சைப் பொருள்களாலும் கோவில் அழகுபடுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்று சிலர் பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். இயேசு, “இவற்றையெல்லாம் பார்க்கிறீர்கள் அல்லவா? ஒரு காலம் வரும்@ அப்போது கற்கள் ஒன்றின் மேல் ஒன்று இராதபடி இவையெல்லாம் இடிக்கப்படும்” என்றார். கோவில் இஸ்ராயேல் மக்களின் இறை-மனித உறவின் அடையாளம். சீடர்களும் துன்பங்களை எதிர்கொள்வர். இயேசு அவர்களது பேச்சிலும் ஞானத்திலும் அவர்களோடு இருக்கிறார் என்பது ஆறுதலையும் மனஉறுதியையும் தரும்.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 18:1-8

Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them?

God’s people are praying people. God’s people pray constantly to God and also at the moment of emergency. It is also the duty of God’s people to pray. Furthermore it is their duty to pray constantly and continuously. It should be like the daily bread. It should not be given up for any reason whatsoever.

A judge who is of bad character (neither feared God; nor had any concern for his own conscience; nor any concern for his own reputation; nor was he concerned about his duty) will not bother to do good to anyone. For selfish motives (not to be disturbed by people) he will do good. God’s praying people should pray with faith and fervency and perseverance.

தாம் தேர்ந்துகொண்டவர்கள் அல்லும் பகலும் தம்மை நோக்கிக் கூக்குரலிடும்போது கடவுள் அவர்களுக்கு நீதி வழங்காமல் இருப்பாரா? அவர்களுக்குத் துணைசெய்யக் காலம் தாழ்த்துவாரா?

இறைமக்கள் ஜெபிக்கவேண்டும். எப்போதும் ஜெபிக்கவேண்டும். தொடர்ந்து ஜெபிக்கவேண்டும். ஜெபிப்பது அவர்களின் கடமையும் கூட. சுயநலத்திற்;காக நன்மைசெய்யும் நேர்மையற்ற நடுவரைவிட தாமே தேர்ந்தெடுத்த மக்களுக்கு இறைவன் நன்மைகளைச் செய்வார்.
