GOSPEL READING: MARK 9:30-37

But they remained silent.

When Jesus asked his disciples about their argument on the way (their life and activity) they remained silent. This seems to be the normal way of behaviour of the disciples or juniors or students. This could be because they were discussing something that was not of any importance; or they were arguing about something that was wrong; or they were discussing something that was not in line with that of the master.

Jesus told them not to waste their time discussing on worthless and useless things rather they should be worried about the kingdom or about relating to Jesus. This is the only important topic and the behaviour in accordance with the life of relationship with Jesus and God.

அவர்கள் பேசாதிருந்தார்கள்.

சீடர்களுடைய வாழ்கையைப்பற்றி அவர்களுடைய உறையாடலைப்பற்றி இயேசு கேள்வி கேட்க்கும்போது அவர்கள் பேசாதிருந்தார்கள். தவறன, தேவையில்லாத, விரும்பதகாத கருத்துக்களை பேசுகிறவர்கள் கேள்வி கேட்க்கும்போது பேசமாட்டார்கள். உண்மையை பேசுபவன் பேசுவதற்கு அஞ்சமாட்டான்.

GOSPEL READING: MARK 9:14-29

” ‘If you can!’ Everything is possible to one who has faith.”

Jesus affirms that everything possible to one who has faith. By saying Jesus presents himself as a man of faith. Because, the disciples could not cast out the evil spirit. The disciples were with Jesus and they were already going around preaching and proclaiming the kingdom and doing the activities of the kingdom. People with little faith (or no faith) could go about doing the works of the kingdom.

Prayer is also equally important and necessary for doing the works of the kingdom. Again Jesus presents himself as a man of prayer. Jesus works of miracles are the outcome of his faith and prayer. Jesus was always in communion with the Father and he spent time in prayer (he went early in the morning to pray, he prayed late into night and at times he spent the whole night in prayer).

‘இயலுமானாலா? நம்புகிறவருக்கு எல்லாம் நிகழும்”

நம்பிக்கையும் ஜெபமும் இறையாட்சியில் அடித்தளமானவை என்பதை இயேசு சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறார். நம்பிக்கை கொண்டோரால் எல்லாம் இயலும். ஜெபத்தில் நிலைத்திருப்போர் புதுமைகளைச் செயல்படுத்துவர். இயேசு நம்பிக்கையிலும் ஜெபத்திலும் நிறைந்தவராய் இருந்தார்.
