GOSPEL READING: JOHN 14: 7-14

To have faith in God is one thing but to have the knowledge of God is another. Faith alone is not sufficient. It is true that faith is essential and faith in God can do wonders and faith can lead one to greater heights. However knowledge of God is also important. This knowledge of God is made available in Jesus. Jesus came in to the world to communicate this experiential knowledge of God to the people around him. This knowledge is made available in the person of Jesus. To know Jesus; to hear Jesus; to feel Jesus is to know God. God is in Jesus and that is why Jesus is God.

நீங்கள் என்னை அறிந்திருந்தால் என் தந்தையையும் அறிந்திருப்பீர்கள்.

இறைவன் மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பது அவசியம் அடிப்படையானது. இறைவன் மேல் கொண்டுள்ள நம்பிக்கையினால் அரும்பெரும் காரியங்கள் செய்யலாம். நம்பிக்கையோடு இறை அறிவும் தேவை. இறை அறிவு இயேசுவில் உண்டு. இயேசுவை கண்டு தொட்டு அறிதல் கடவுளை அறிதலாகும்.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 14:1-6

You have faith in God; have faith also in me.

Jesus’ final discourse is filled with expressions the values that are essential for the life of a follower. Being in the world, the disciples are troubled. They are anxious as to their future which is natural. They have left everything and followed him and now Jesus is telling that he is going away from them.

Jesus’ answer to their anxiety is to have faith in god and in him. It is faith that removes all anxiety. Faith in god is essential and added to that to faith in Jesus as the mediator. Jesus as the true and only son of God mediates between God and people and that is the reason that he is able to say that I am the way the truth and the life.

கடவுளிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள். என்னிடமும் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள்.

இயேசு இவ்வுலகைவிட்டுச் செல்லுகிறார் என்பதை சீடர்கள் கேட்டவுடன் மனம் கலங்கி அஞ்சுகிறார்கள். அப்போது இயேசு அவர்களிடம் எதிர்பார்ப்பது நம்பிக்கை. கடவுள்மேல் நாம் கொண்டுள்ள நம்பிக்கைதான் கலக்கம் அச்சம் போன்றவைகளை நீக்கும். இந்த நம்பிக்கை இயேசுவின்மீதும் தேவை ஏனெனில் இயேசுதான் வழியும் வாழ்வும் உண்மையும்.
