Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 7:11-17

“Do not weep.”

Jesus does not want to see people weeping. But he himself was weeping at the tomb of Lazarus. Death always made people weep (All were weeping and mourning for her, when he said, “Do not weep any longer, for she is not dead, but sleeping.”- Lk 8:52; and “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children – Lk 23:28).

This statement of Jesus shows his compassion for the widow. Widow is one of those who were to be cared for by the society. But this particular woman had also lost her only son. This only goes to show that he had no husband (past) and no son (future) and at present she needed only compassion from the others. Jesus showed this by giving her the future.

‘அழாதீர்”

ஒருவர் இறந்துவிட்டார் என்ற செய்தி உறவினர்களை அல்லது நண்பர்களை அழ வைக்கிறது. (லூக்கா 8:52; 23:28). இயேசு பரிவு கொள்கிறார் ஏனென்றால் அவர் ஒரு விதவை (எல்லாவற்றையும் இழந்தவள்). துன் ஒரே மகனை இழப்பதனால் தன் எதிர்காலத்தையும் இழந்து விடுகிறாள்.

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 2:41-51

his mother kept all these things in her heart.

The heart of a mother is always for the child. She takes the child wherever she goes even if it be a long distance. The heart of the mother wants to be close to the child. The heart of the mother teaches the religion to the child (she takes him to practice their religious custom – she introduces the child to the religious custom).

The heart of the mother always searches for her child and if lost she goes after the child. She does not take the pains in her heart rather the child is in her heart and hence she goes after the child. The child is always brought back to her care and service. Whatever happens to the child is in the heart of the mother.

அவருடைய தாய் இந்நிகழ்ச்சிகளையெல்லாம் தமது உள்ளத்தில் பதித்து வைத்திருந்தார்.

தாயின் இதயம் (உள்ளம்) குழந்தையை எப்போதும் தாங்கிக்கொள்ளும். குழந்தை எப்போதும் தன் அருகிலிருக்க விரும்புவார். குழந்தையை தன் பழக்கவழக்கத்தில் பழக்கி விடுவார். குழந்தைக்கு நடக்கும் எல்லா நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் தன் இதயத்தில் வைத்திருப்பார்.
