‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone

The owner of the vineyard and the way he has dealt with the tenant seem to present a strange story. Why did he not deal with them at the beginning itself as he dealt with them towards the end of the story? The strangeness of story is the real historical happening in the lives of the people of Israel. We could even say that God deals with the people as we find in this story.
God who is the creator deals with men who are the tenants as we find in the story and this is historically true in the story of the people of Israel. The owner is patient, kind, generous, understanding and allowing the goodness in man to work. Man forgets that he is a creature of God but wants to behave like God. He forgets the message of the prophet Micah 6:8 (…walk humbly before God).

இறைவன் இஸ்ராயேல் மக்களோடு நடந்துகொண்ட வரலாற்று நிகழ்வுகளே உவமையாக இங்கே கூறப்படுகிறது. இறைவன் மனிதனைப்படைத்தது அவனை ஒரு குத்தகைக்காரனக பணிக்கிறார். குத்தகைக்காரன் முதலாளியாக நடக்க முயலுகிறான். இந்த முயற்ச்சியில் மனிதன் தன்நிலை மறந்து இறைவனின் ஒரே பேறான மகனையே அழிக்க முயலுகிறான். மனிதனுக்கு தோல்வியே. அவன் குத்தகைக்காரன் தானே.
