GOSPEL READING: JOHN 16:16-20
Jesus story is coming to an end, it seems so. In a short time everything will come to an end. The disciples are going to experience an intense moment of pain. The pain is going to be like that of the birth pang. Jesus will be taken away; but they will see him again. The disciples will go through a moment of grief, of separation, of loneliness etc.
The resurrection will follow immediately that will make the disciples realize his presence among them. ‘A little while’ is the time frame to show the two great events in the mystery of salvation: death and resurrection. Death and resurrection are the two pivotal points in the life mission of Jesus and they should also be so for the disciples. The disciples should be able to realize the ‘little while’ and live in the hope of the resurrection.

‘இன்னும் சிறிது காலத்தில் நீங்கள் என்னைக் காணமாட்டீர்கள்: மீண்டும் சிறிது காலத்தில் என்னைக் காண்பீர்கள்” என்று இயேசு சொல்லுகிறார்;. ‘சிறிது காலம்’ எதைக் குறிக்கிறது என்று கேட்போமாகில்> அது அவருடைய இறப்பு உயிர்ப்பை மையப்படுத்தி பேசுகிறது என்று சொல்லலாம். இயேசுவின் வாழ்விலும் பணியிலும் இறப்பும் உயிர்ப்பும் மையப்புள்ளிகளாய் இருந்தன. இறப்புக்கும் உயிர்புக்கும் இடையே உள்ள காலமே ‘சிறிது காலம்’. சிறிது காலத்திற்கு பின் வரும் அந்த உயிர்ப்பில் சீடர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவேண்டும்.
