Breaking the Word

GOSPEL  READING: JOHN 6: 22-29

 Jesus tells the crowd to look at the signs. Signs indicate something beyond and they make the viewers to hope for something in the future and look for something nobler and greater. He criticizes the crowd for having satisfied with what they got externally. They were fed and filled. They run behind Jesus because of this satisfaction. Jesus challenges their motivation.

 All what Jesus had done is only a sign. They are historical and physical actions yet they have something to point out to. They have to believe in Jesus who God has sent. Material, physical satisfactions should end up here on earth rather they should lead the man to look for what it points out to. In a sense people should have a sacramental mind.

 உலக நிகழ்வுகள் (அப்பங்களை பழுகசெய்தல்) உடல் நிறைவுக்காக மட்டும் அன்று. அவைகள் அரும் அடையாளங்கள். இவ்வுலகு சார்ந்தவைகளாக இருப்பினும் அவைகள் விண்ணுலகு சார்ந்த உண்மைகளை சுட்டிக்காட்டுகின்றன. இயேசு கடவுளால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவர் அவரில் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுதலே அடித்தளமானது.

GOSPEL  READING: LUKE 24: 35-48

 Disciples after having had their personal experiences rushed to the group to narrate. Disciples always communicated and share their experiences to the groups (faith sharing). As a group they were praying over and disputing and discussing about these experiences. They were trying to find meaning for themselves and find meaning in the scriptures.

 Jesus appeared to the groups as well and confirmed their personal experiences. Personal experiences are supported and strengthened in groups. As a group they received more tangible experiences. Here in this story, for example, he showed himself physically and also ate what was cooked. Thus he revealed to them that the risen Jesus is the same Jesus who was with them earlier and accompanied them.  After these they are asked to be witnesses to the world.

தனித்தனியாக உயிர்த்த இயேசு அனுபவம் பெற்ற சீடர்களுக்கு இப்போது ஒரு குழு அனுபவம் கொடுக்கிறார். தனி அனுபவங்கள் இங்கே பகிரப்படுகின்றன. குழு அனுபவம் வழியாக அவர்கள் இனைக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். குழு அனுபவம் பெற்றவர்கள் உலகிற்கு சாட்சிகளாக அனுப்பப்படுகிறார்கள். தனி அனுபவங்கள் விசுவாசத்தில் பகிரப்படவேண்டும். இதுவே குழு அனுபவத்;திற்கு அடித்தளமாகிறது. அனுபவ பகிர்வுகளே சாட்சிய வாழ்க்கை.
