Breaking the Word

GOSPEL  READING: LUKE 24: 13-35

 Jesus was walking with them and they were prevented from recognizing the Lord. They were walking to their village and they were discussing among themselves as anyone would do. Their discussion did not reflect in anyway the belief in the resurrection or all what Jesus had said about himself.

 Any amount of explanation on the way did not open their eyes. Breaking of the bread made them recognize the risen Lord. Jesus approached each disciple or group of disciples according to their need. For Mary it was enough that he called her name. For Thomas Jesus had to appear with the signs of wounds. Jesus did as each disciple needed it.

மனித மனநிலையிலான சிந்தனைகள் உயிர்ப்பை வெளிப்படுத்துவதில்லை. மனித மனநிலை உலகு சார்ந்த நிலைகளை வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றன. அவர்களிடையே பயம், சோர்வு, கவலை போன்ற மனநிலைகள் இருந்தன. உயிர்த்த இயேசு அப்பத்தை பகிர்வதில் வெளிப்படுத்தப் படுகிறார். ஒவ்வொருவரிடமும் வெவ்வேறு விதமாக வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார்.

GOSPEL  READING: JOHN 20:11-18

 Mary is in the same situation like all the disciples. Empty tomb, though a sign of resurrection later, now gave them fear and worry. They too like others thought that someone has taken the body of Jesus away from the tomb. Even when Jesus appeared to her she could not but think that he was a gardener. She talked to him as he would talk to a gardener.

When Jesus called her by name (personal) she recognized the Lord. Jesus had to make them realize that he had risen from the dead through personal encounter. Personal experience of Jesus was to proclaim his resurrection to all the disciples. Jesus did not tell her to announce to the public. First she had to inform the disciples and then later the disciples will announce to the public on Pentecost.

 எல்லா சீடர்களும் கல்லறை வெறுமையாயிருப்பதைக்கண்டு பயந்தனர் கவலைப்பட்டனர். மரியாவும் அதேபோல்தான். இயேசு அவளுடைய பெயரை உச்சரித்த உடனே உயிர்த்த இயேசுவை உணர்ந்து கொள்கிறாள் அறிந்து கொள்கிறாள். மற்ற சீடர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்க அழைக்கப்படுகிறாள். உயிர்ப்பு அனுபவம் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளவே.
