GOSPEL READING: JOHN 15:12-17
Jesus is addressing the disciples and he is talking to them about love, friendship, revelation etc. In this passage Jesus is giving a new meaning to being a disciple. Here he does not speak about following him and going for a mission or sending them for a mission. But if we read the gospel of John, in chapter 21, the author narrates a story in which Jesus questions Peter regarding loving him and finally tells him to follow him. So following requires love.
Jesus also speaks about the father and revealing the father to his disciples and receiving from the father whatever asked in his name. Jesus love for the disciples and his friendship with them is to reveal father. This revelation is again to benefit the disciples only (so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you).

இயேசு சீடர்களிடம் அன்பு, நட்பு, வெளிப்பாடு போன்றவைகளைப்பற்றித்தான் பேசுகிறார். பின்தொடர்தல், பணி போன்றவைகளைப்பற்றி இங்கு பேசவில்லை. யோவான் நற்செய்தியில் அன்பு, நட்பு, வெளிப்பாடு போன்றவைதான் சீடர்களுக்கு அடையாளங்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறார்.
