GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 25:31-46
‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’

Love of God and love of neighbour are the two focal points of the biblical religion. One cannot be separated from the other. They are like the religion and society, two sides of the same coin. Anyone who is able to love God and the neighbour completely then he is truly the son of God (only Jesus could do it).Wherever religion and society are equally and inseparably merged then there is the kingdom.
Any humanitarian action like feeding the hungry or offering water to the thirsty or visiting the prisoner is an action (service = liturgy) done to the divine. Any refusal of the human action is the refusal of the presence of the divine in the world. Of all creation only human beings have the possibility of becoming divine.

மனிதன் என்பவன் தெய்வமாகலாம். படைக்கப்பட்ட படைப்புகளில் மனிதனுக்கு மட்டும் இது முடியுமானது. மனிதனுக்குச் செய்கின்றவை தெய்வத்திற்கு செய்யும் பணிகளாகும். ஏனென்றால் மனித அன்பை தெய்வ அன்பிலிருந்து பிறிக்க முடியாது. மனித அன்புச் செயல்கள் தெய்வத்திற்குச் செய்யும் வழிபாடுகள் போல.
