STONE HAD BEEN REMOVED (Jn 20:1-9)

Why was the stone removed from the tomb?
Was it for Jesus to come out of the tomb?
Jesus did not have the need for the stone to be removed.
he had walked into the closed doors. He appeared to the disciples
and disappeared the same way as he appeared.
Jesus did not have the need for stone to be removed.

Stoned was removed for the sake of the disciples.
Why?
Then only the disciples could enter into the mystery of the
Resurrection. Then only they could see resurrection
physically and practically.
Empty tomb was the only sign at the beginning.
They were shocked; they ran away; they were afraid of the emptiness.
But belief entered into their closed hearts.

The Body was not stolen.
If stolen then they would have carried the dead body with the cloths.
The body would have been decomposing and they would have had the need of
the cloths to carry the body.
Here we see the cloths rolled up and the cloth that had covered the head rolled
in a different place. So it was done by the person as if he got up from sleep
to roll up his bed. ( as he used to tell the sick persons to take up the bed and walk.
It meant a miracle had taken place)
If someone were to say the wild dogs had eaten the body; then one wonders how the
wild dogs roll up the bed and keep it safe in different places.

The stone was rolled for the disciples to see all these facts and to believe in the Resurrection.
