GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 21:33-43, 45-46
The builders rejecting the stone is same as the tenants abusing the son. The Chief priests and the elders were the builders of the Jewish community, which was God’s building. But they would not allow Christ inside and they would not admit him with his doctrine and laws. They threw his out so he became a stepping stone or a stone that was trampled upon.
But Jesus became the central message for the church which based itself on his preaching. He was rejected by the Jews but the Gentiles accepted him and his words became the basis. The honour done to him by the Gentile world was marvelous. He who was abhorred and despised is adored by kings (Is 49:7). It is the Lord’s doing.
தலைமைக் குருக்களும் பரிசேயரும் இயேசுவை புறக்கணித்துவிட்டனர். ஆனால் அவருடைய போதனைகளையும் இறையாட்சியையும் மற்ற இனத்தவர் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டனர். மனிதரிடையே பெரிதும் இகழப் பட்டவரும் நாடுகளிடையே வெறுத்தொதுக்கப்பட்டவரும் ஆட்சியாளர்களின் பணியாளருமானவருக்கு இஸ்ரயேலின் மீட்பரும் தூயவருமான ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: ‘உண்மையுள்ள ஆண்டவரை முன்னிட்டும் உம்மைத் தேர்ந்துகொண்ட இஸ்ரயேலின் தூயவர் பொருட்டும் அரசர்கள் உம்மைக் கண்டு எழுந்து நிற்பர்@ தலைவர்கள் உம்முன் தலை வணங்குவர்”. (எசா 49:7)
