17.06.11 TREASURE

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. "The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be. (Mt 6:19-23)

Treasures are important for life. We have to look for treasures and store up treasures. The place where we store up treasure is important. Treasure on earth is of no use and treasures in heaven are preferred.  Jesus distinguishes between heaven and earth. Earth and earthly things have their own importance but they are not everything.

Jesus also distinguishes between the treasures. Some treasures are moth eaten, stolen and destroyed. There are treasures which are not destroyed. They are for ever. These treasures reflect heavenly realities. They are eternal and they make the one who stores them up also important. So the man who goes after treasure must distinguish between treasure and also the place where he stores up.

Treasure reflects the mind of the individual. Treasure reflects the heart of the individual. Because, where the treasure is there the heart of the individual will be. Man is evaluated according to the treasure and where he stores them up. Man should store up his treasures in heaven because that is where he is suppose to go to. Man’s life is heaven bound.
