32nd Week in Ord. Time, Friday – 15th November 2019 — Gospel: Lk 17,26-37
Prepared to be saved
While the kingdom of God has come in Jesus, it will achieve its glorious completion in the future. He is the glorious son of Man who will be revealed on that day. There will be judgement and destruction as swift and permanent as that which occurred in the days of Noah and Lot. As in those days, when injustice and oppression were judged with destruction, those who are righteous like Noah and Lot will be saved. Those who look back and try to preserve their life, like the wife of Lot, will lose their life. But those who are willing to lose their life, making no permanent claims to it, will preserve it forever. To be saved, we need to live a life of righteousness and be ready to risk losing our life.
