04.06.10 INSPIRATION

As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said, "How do the scribes claim that the Messiah is the son of David? David himself, inspired by the holy Spirit, said: 'The Lord said to my lord, "Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet."' David himself calls him 'lord'; so how is he his son?" (The) great crowd heard this with delight. (Mk 12:35-37)

Jesus was teaching in the temple area. One of the main ministries of Jesus was teaching. He was healing and preaching besides teaching. His ministry was along the sea coast, on the mountain top, along the fields, in the house, in the synagogue, on the water etc. Now it is in the temple area. This is the last place where he teaches.  His ministry has not excludes anyplace.

Scribes (human) understanding is that the Messiah is the son of David. And David himself called him the Lord. This was due to the inspiration of the holy Spirit. Human understanding and the inspiration by the holy Spirit are different.  Both should not be considered equal. Inspiration by the holy Spirit is of prime importance.

Study of the Scriptures, knowledge of the Scriptures and the understanding of it are all important in a religion. Inspiration form the holy Spirit is of greater importance and it has to be valued more.
