27.04.2022 — Walking in the Light

2nd week in Easter, Wednesday – 27th April 2022 — Gospel: John 3, 16-21

Walking in the Light

Jesus affirms that the light has already come into the world. Here the option for the disciple is not whether Christ will come, but rather whether we will choose to receive the light. People should normally opt for light, instead some prefer darkness. The reason why they did is because they did not want either their deeds or their person to be exposed. Fear ruled their hearts. Those who opted for the light opted for freedom and love. Since they know they are in the light, they do not fear the agents of darkness and deceit. Those who do wrong prefer darkness, while those who are right, will act in the light of day. Those who walk in the way of light, they are one with the Son sent by the Father who loved the world in embracing the cross. Thus, with the sacrifice of the cross, Jesus reveals the loving face of God: for he came to save, not to condemn humanity. Those who are in the light do not fear condemnation by any authorities, for they know they have eternal life.
