06.11.2023 — Inclusive Plan of God

31st Week in Ord. Time, Monday – 06th November 2023 – Rom 11,29-36; Lk 14,12-14

Inclusive Plan of God

In the first reading, Paul ponders on the inclusive plan of God and is overwhelmed by this divine plan. God’s thoughts are beyond human thinking that it cannot be fully understood by the limited human mind. God grants freedom of choice to human beings. Yet, even after all of God’s mighty deeds towards original chosen people (the Jews), many of them choose to go away by not accepting Jesus as their Saviour. Paul realizes that God’s foreknowledge of this worked for good of Hebrew people as well as the Pagans. The disobedience or sinfulness of both the Jews and the Gentiles enabled God to show mercy and forgiveness and to draw them back to God. This is the very nature of God that is everlasting. In the whole process, God is to be given glory and praise for his plan of salvation that continues to work out for the good of all.
