13.08.2016 CHILDREN

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 19:13-15

Hands are to bless others. Hands are to welcome people and greet them and to hold them close and bless. They are not to chase others or to divide and to separate etc. Jesus communicates an excellent message through the simple action of touching the children and blessing them and praying over them.

Children are welcome to Jesus because the kingdom belongs to people who are like the little children. One of the qualities of children is that they belong to and depend on others. They are not like the grownups who feed independent and individualistic. Children are community minded and they rely on others and naturally they will depend on God and relate to him.

12.08.2016 RESPECT FOR GOD’S CREATION

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 19:3-12

God created the world and all that are within it. God has also given certain principles according to which the creation should live and move. Any change in these principles would be to go against the creator and indirectly that would upset the creation. God’s principles should be respected in every space and time and event.

Rules that are manmade can change according to time and space. Sometimes rules are made to satisfy certain situations and persons and this in no way guarantees that situations and persons become criteria for life. Life is a gift of God and he has made certain principles for life and they should be respected always.
