Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 16:12-15

The relationship that exists between the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit is described here and some the activities of the Holy Spirit are given. The relationship that exists between them is for the good of the disciples. So God’s relationship and God’s activities are for the good of the people.

The activities of the Holy Spirit are: guide the disciples to all truth; declare those things that will happen in the future; glorify Jesus; declare in front of the disciples. All these activities are centered on Jesus. Holy Spirit comes only with the intention of making Jesus known, glorifies and declared.

தூய ஆவியாரின் பணிகள்: முழு உண்மையை நோக்கி வழிநடத்துதல்@ வரப்போகிறவற்றை அறிவித்தல்@ மாட்சிப்படுத்துதல்@ அறிவித்தல். இப்பணிகள் அனைத்தும் இயேசுவை மையப்படுத்துகின்றன அதோடு இப்பணிகளினால் பயனடைபவர்கள் சீடர்களே.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 14:6-14

Philip is the one who brought Nathanael to Jesus. He is one who said to Nathanael that we have found the Messiah about whom the scriptures speak about. The very same man (Philip) is asking now to see the Father. This request of Philip is very important because through this the greatest truth is revealed by Jesus. To have seen Jesus is to have seen the Father.

Father (God) is not hidden somewhere in a far off place. God is immanent. God is present totally in Jesus. Jesus word and actions reveal God to the world. In John 15:15, Jesus says: “because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father”. God is also to be seen in his creation though not in the perfect sense as in the case of Jesus.

பிலிப்பு நத்தனியேலைப் போய்ப் பார்த்து, இறைவாக்கினர்களும் திருச்சட்ட நூலில் மோசேயும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளவரை நாங்கள் கண்டுகொண்டோம். நாசரேத்தைச் சேர்ந்த யோசேப்பின் மகன் இயேசுவே அவர்” என்றார். இயேசுவை மெசியாவாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட பிலிப்பு இங்கு தந்தையை காண ஆவல் கொள்கிறார். இயேசுவை காண்பது தந்தையை காண்பது. தந்தை படைப்பில் தன்னை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார். இயேசுவில் இந்த வெளிப்பாடு நிறைவாக முழுமையாக இருக்கிறது.
