GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 10:7-15

Whatever we receive from God is freely given. We cannot merit anything from God. God’s gifts are free, gratuitous. God wants his creatures also to be like him. They in their turn should be giving gifts to others and these gifts should be freely given. There nothing that we can claim as our own.

This is much more true of the ministry of proclamation. The one who goes to proclaim does not rather should not go prepared for journey or stay. They are all provided (will be gifted). Also his journey to proclaim is like going to the temple. Only into the temple one does not go with sandals, walking stick, extra tunic etc. ‘Proclaiming the kingdom’ ministry is like going to temple or going for sacrifice.

கடவுளிடமிருந்து பெற்றவை அனைத்தும் கொடைகளே. கொடைகள் மீண்டும் கொடைகளாக வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும். விண்ணரசைப்பற்றி பறைசாற்றும் பணியும் கொடையே. அது ஒரு வழிபாடு போன்றது ஏனெனில் வழிபாட்டு தலத்திற்கு செல்லுதல் போன்று செல்லவேண்டும். “பொன்> வெள்ளி> செப்புக் காசு எதையும் உங்கள் இடைக் கச்சைகளில் வைத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டாம். இரண்டு அங்கிகளோ> மிதியடிகளோ> கைத்தடியோ எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போக வேண்டாம்.”

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 10:1-7

The disciples were with Jesus for some time. They stayed with him and they observed the preaching and the activities of him. This was the time of formation and then only Jesus summoned them for their mission. They were given authority over unclean spirits and they were also given power to heal the sick. They were supposed to do what Jesus himself was doing.

They were also instructed to proclaim that the kingdom of heaven was at hand. Kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God was an idea that communicated to the people the rule of God. Their belief was that God would come at the end of time and he would begin to rule the whole universe as its king. It would be like heaven. Jesus’ arrival was to establish that kingdom already. The disciples were to continue that work of establishing the kingdom.

வுpண்ணரசு அல்லது இறையாட்சி என்பது இறைவனை தலைவனாக கொண்டு படைப்பனைத்தும் அவரது ஆட்சியின்கீழ் வாழ்வதுதான். தற்போது நடப்பது தீயோனின் ஆட்சி எனவேதான் தீய ஆவிகளும் நோய் நொடிகளும் பரவிக்கிடக்கின்றன. சீடர்களுக்கு இந்த தீய சக்திகளுக்கு எதிராக அதிகாரம் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. தீயோனின் ஆட்சியை அழித்து இறைவனின் உடனிருப்பை> உள்ளிருப்பை அறிவிப்பதுதான் அவர்களின் பணி.
