GOSPEL READING: JOHN 14:1-6

You have faith in God; have faith also in me.

Jesus’ final discourse is filled with expressions the values that are essential for the life of a follower. Being in the world, the disciples are troubled. They are anxious as to their future which is natural. They have left everything and followed him and now Jesus is telling that he is going away from them.

Jesus’ answer to their anxiety is to have faith in god and in him. It is faith that removes all anxiety. Faith in god is essential and added to that to faith in Jesus as the mediator. Jesus as the true and only son of God mediates between God and people and that is the reason that he is able to say that I am the way the truth and the life.

கடவுளிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள். என்னிடமும் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள்.

இயேசு இவ்வுலகைவிட்டுச் செல்லுகிறார் என்பதை சீடர்கள் கேட்டவுடன் மனம் கலங்கி அஞ்சுகிறார்கள். அப்போது இயேசு அவர்களிடம் எதிர்பார்ப்பது நம்பிக்கை. கடவுள்மேல் நாம் கொண்டுள்ள நம்பிக்கைதான் கலக்கம் அச்சம் போன்றவைகளை நீக்கும். இந்த நம்பிக்கை இயேசுவின்மீதும் தேவை ஏனெனில் இயேசுதான் வழியும் வாழ்வும் உண்மையும்.

GOSPEL READING: MARK 16:15-20

Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.

The final commandment of Jesus was to proclaim the gospel to all creatures. Proclamation was not limited to any sector or region or any group of people. The duty of the disciple is to proclaim without even counting the returns. The disciple has to communicate that in Jesus God is present and God has brought salvation through the life and death and resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus accompanied them in their mission and his presence was revealed through the signs and wonders. These signs were essentially removing the evil and the negative things that were present among creation. Their activities were also one of healing and giving life and completeness.

இறைவன் இவ்வுலகில் இருக்கிறார்; இயேசுவில் தன்னை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். இயேசு தனது பாடுகள், மரணம், உயிர்ப்பு வழியாக மீட்ப்பை உலகிற்கு கொண்டுவந்தார். இந்த நற்செய்தியானது சீடர்கள் வழியாக; அவர்களின் செயல்பாடுகள் வழியாக பறைசாற்றப்பட வேண்டும்.
