GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 11:2-11
“What did you go out to the desert to see?
Jesus and John the Baptist stand as witnesses to each other. John the Baptist reveals to his disciples who Jesus was through a direct interview with him by the disciples themselves. John believed that Jesus was the Messiah (When John heard in prison of the works of the Messiah) but to make his disciples believe in him he does so (see Jn 1:36).
Jesus acknowledged that John was greater than a prophet. He was a messenger and he was the one to prepare the way of the Messiah. Anyone who prepares the way of the Lord and announces his coming is the greatest born of woman. Least in the kingdom is the one who has announced his kingdom and prepared for its coming.

இயேசுவும் திருமுழுக்கு யோவானும் ஒருவர் மற்றவருக்கு சாட்சி பகர்கிறார்கள். இயேசுதான் மெசியா என்று திருமுழுக்கு யோவானும்; திருமுழுக்கு யோவான்தான் முன்னோடி (இறையாட்சியில் தலைசிறந்தவர்) என்று இயேசுவும் சாட்சி கூறுகிறார்கள்.
