GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 26:14-25
The scene of Last Supper presents an image of friendship, sharing and togetherness. It should have been a moment of joy and happiness. But they are distressed. It was because of betrayal (He who has dipped his hand into the dish with me is the one who will betray me).
Betrayal will always go side by side with friendship. Of the two one becomes a true friend and the other becomes a false friend (betrayer). Betrayer is as good as being not born (but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born).
நட்பு பகிர்வு ஒற்றுமை போன்றவைதான் இறுதி இரவு உணவின்போது காணவேண்டிய பண்புகள். ஆனால் நட்பும் காட்டிக்கொடுத்தலும் எப்போதும் கைகோர்த்துச் செல்பவை. எங்கே நட்பு உண்டோ அங்கே காட்டிக்கொடுத்தலும் உண்டு. காட்டிக்கொடுப்பவன் அழிவுக்குச் சமம் (அம்மனிதன் பிறவாதிருந்தால் அவனுக்கு நலமாயிருந்திருக்கும்).
