GOSPEL READING: JOHN 13:1-15
Jesus has given a model. Model is given to be imitated. Models should become reality. Model should be a regular and normal way of behavior. Foot-washing should be the normal way of life of a disciple. Every disciple should bend down to touch the feet of the other. Every disciple should come in touch with the dirt (on the feet) of the other. Every disciple should clean the dirt from (of) the other.
Side by side we are also told of the story of Judas. He does not bend to the feet of the other; he lifts his feet against the other. He does not tough the dirt of the other; he becomes part of the dirt (Satan entered into him). Foot-washing builds relationship whereas betrayal breaks relationship. Which model do we adhere to: Judas or Jesus?
இயேசு முன்மாதிரி காட்டுகிறார். முன்மாதிரி பின்பற்றுவதற்கே. முன்மாதிரி நிகழ்வாக வேண்டும். சீடனின் அனுதின செயலாகவேண்டும். ஒவ்வொரு சீடனும் மற்றவர் பாதத்தைத் தொடவேண்டும்@ பாதத்தில் உள்ள அழுக்கை தொடவேண்டும்@ அதைக் கழுவவேண்டும். இந்த கதையில் உள்ள யூதாஸைப்போல் அல்ல. அவன் பாதத்தை தொடவில்லை@ மாறாக காலை வாறினான். அழுக்கை கழுவவில்லை மாறாக அழுக்காகிவிட்டான் (காட்டிக் கொடுக்கும் எண்ணத்தை அலகை சீமோனின் மகனாகிய யூதாசு இஸ்காரியோத்தின் உள்ளத்தில் எழச்செய்திருந்தது). பாதம் கழுவுதல் உறவை வளர்க்கும்@ காட்டிக்கொடுத்தல் உறவை முறிக்கும்.
