*Jesus’ Topographical Revelations*
The desert, the mountain, the sea – these are the three strategic environments in which God reveals himself to his people. The previous scene of the feeding in the deserted place evoked the wilderness through which God led his people and formed them as his own. The mountain that Jesus climbs to pray evokes Mount Sinai, where God manifested himself to his people. And the sea over which Jesus walks recalls the sea that rescued God’s people from the armies of their oppressors. All of these topographical allusions emphasize that Jesus is the new Moses, through whom God is revealing himself anew and liberating his people from all that holds them in bondage.
பாலைவனம், மலைப்பிரதேசம், மற்றும் கடல் பகுதி – இம்மூன்றும் கடவுள் தம் மக்களுக்கு தன்னையே வெளிப்படுத்தும் முக்கிய சூழல்களாகும். முந்தைய பகுதியில் கண்ட பாலை நிலத்தில் மக்களுக்கு உணவை வழங்கிய நிகழ்வு, பழைய ஏற்பாட்டில் பாலைநிலத்தின் வழியே கடவுள் தம் மக்களை அழைத்துச் சென்றதையும், அவர்களை தம் சொந்த மக்களாய் உருவாக்கியதையும் நினைவுபடுத்துகின்றது. இயேசு செபிப்பதற்காக மலைமீது ஏறிச் சென்றது சீனாய் மலையில் கடவுள் தம்முடைய மக்களுக்காக தம்மையே வெளிப்படுத்தியதை நினைவுபடுத்துகின்றது. மேலும் கடலோரமாய் இயேசு நடந்து சென்றது, கடவுள் கடல் வழியாய் எதிரிகளிடமிருந்து தம் மக்களைக் காப்பாற்றியதையும் நினைவு கூறுகின்றது. இந்நிலப்பகுதி வர்ணனைகள் அனைத்தும் இயேசு புதிய மோசே என்பதை வலியுறுத்துகின்றன. அவர் வழியாக கடவுள் தம்மையே மீண்டும் வெளிப்படுத்துகின்றார், தம் மக்களை அடிமைத்தனத்தில் வைத்திருக்கும் அனைத்திலிருந்தும் விடுவிப்பார் என்பதே.
