*Friendship shares faith*
The paralyzed man is unable to come to Jesus by himself, so he is carried by four faithful friends. Incapable of approaching Jesus in the house because of the impenetrable crowd, the unwavering four bring him up to the roof and lower him down to the feet of Jesus. The typical Galilean home had an outside stairway leading to the roof, which was made of wood beams packed with straw and clay. Without any reaction, Jesus responds with total affirmation to this implicit request for healing because “he saw their faith”. Here, more than the trust of the paralytic, Jesus witnesses the faithful and fearless deed of the four friends. Mark wants to show that one of the deepest expression of friendship is to bring another to Jesus. For none of us with our own strength and ability alone can achieve the wholeness for which we long.
முடக்குவாதமுற்ற மனிதர் தாமாகவே இயேசுவிடம் வர இயலாது, எனவே அவரை நம்பிக்கையுள்ள நான்கு நண்பர்கள் அழைத்து வந்தனர். திரளான மக்கள் கூட்டத்தினால் இயேசு போதித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த வீட்டிற்குள் நுழைவாயிலின் வழியே நுழைய முடியவில்லை, எனினும் மனம் தளராத நால்வர் வீட்டின் கூரை வழியே இறக்கி இயேசுவின் காலடியில் அவரைக் கிடத்தினர். பாரம்பரிய கலிலேய வீட்டிற்கு வெளியே மேற்கூரைக்கு செல்லும் படிக்கட்டு இருக்கும். வீட்டின் கூரையோ மரத்தாலான சட்டங்களை மையப்படுத்தி வைக்கோலும் களிமண்ணும் இணைந்து கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கும். இந்நால்வரின் இச்செயலில் உள்ளார்ந்த வேண்டுதலை உணர்ந்து, ‘அவர்களுடைய விசுவாசத்தைக் கண்டு’, எந்தவொரு எதிர்ப்பினையும் வெளிக்காட்டாமல், அவர்களின் நம்பிக்கையை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் ஒரு முழுமைக்கான பதிலை இயேசு தருகிறார். இங்கு முடக்குவாதமுற்றவரின் நம்பிக்கையைவிட, நான்கு நண்பர்களின் அச்சமற்ற செயலும் முழுமையான நம்பிக்கையும் அவருக்கு சாட்சியாய் அமைந்திருந்தன. இயேசுவிடம் மற்றவரை அழைத்து வருதலே நட்பின் மிக ஆழமான வெளிப்பாடுகளில் ஒன்று என்பதை மாற்கு இங்கு சுட்டிக்காட்ட விழைகிறார். எவரும் தம்முடைய சொந்த பலத்தினாலும் மற்றும் திறமையினாலும் நீண்ட காலமாக எதிர்நோக்கி இருக்கும் முழுமையை தாமாகவே அடைய முடியாது.
