*Let Abundance flow with Quality*
The miracle of the delicious wine is the first sign of revealing the Father at work in Jesus, manifesting God’s power and love, and drawing people to his abundant life. In Judaism wine is an expression of joyful celebration. The prophets of Israel had used images of abundant and quality wine to express the restoration of David’s rule and the coming of the Messiah: “The mountains shall drip sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it” (Amos 9,13). “The Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-matured wines” (Isaiah 25,6). In this first sign, the emphasis is not only on the quantity of wine that filled the six stone jars to the brim, but also on the quality of the wine. When the chief steward tasted it, he told the bridegroom, “You have kept the good wine until now”. For those who trustingly follow Jesus and believe in him, life becomes an anticipation of the joyous wedding feast foretold by the prophets. Their life will never again be as predictable, tasteless and colourless as water; their life in Jesus becomes vibrant, delicious and effervescent like the wine.
இனிமையான திராட்சை இரசத்தை மாற்றிய அதிசயம் இறைத்தந்தை இயேசுவின் வழியே செயலாற்றுவதை வெளிப்படுத்தும் முதல் செயலாகும். இது கடவுளின் வல்லமையையும் அன்பையும் வெளிப்படுத்துவதோடு எல்லா மக்களையும் அவருடைய வளமையான வாழ்வுக்கு ஈர்ப்பதை சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறது. யூதமதத்தில் திராட்சை இரசம் மகிழ்ச்சிக் கொண்டாட்டத்தின் வெளிப்பாடாகும். இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவாக்கினர்கள் தாவீது ஆட்சியின் மறுமலர்ச்சியையும் மற்றும் மெசியாவின் வருகையையும் அடையாளப்படுத்த வளமான மற்றும் தரமான திராட்சை இரச உருவகத்தினை பயன்படுத்தினார்கள்: “மலைகள் இனிய இரசத்தைப் பொழியும், குன்றுகள் தோறும் அது வழிந்தோடும்” (ஆமோ 9,13). மேலும், “ படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் மக்களினங்கள் அனைவருக்கும் கொழுப்பான இறைச்சித் துண்டுகளும், வடிகட்டிப் பக்குவப்படுத்திய திராட்சை இரசமும் பரிமாறப்படும் (எசா 25,6) என்றார்.” இந்த முதல் அருங்குறியில் ஆறு கல் தொட்டிகளிலும் விளிம்புவரை நிரம்பி வழிந்த திராட்சை இரசத்தின் அளவை விட, அந்த இரசத்தின் உயர்ந்த தரம் வலியுறுத்தப்படுகிறது. அதனால் தான், பந்தி மேற்பார்வையாளர் தரமான இரசத்தைச் சுவைத்தப்பின், மணமகனை நோக்கி, “இதுவரை நல்ல இரசத்தை பரிமாறாமல் வைத்திருந்தீர்” என்றார். இயேசுவின் மீது நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு அவரைப் பின்பற்றுபவர்களின் வாழ்வு இறைவாக்கினர்கள் முன்னறிவித்த இம்மகிழ்ச்சியான திருமண விருந்து வாழ்க்கையை எதிர்நோக்கியதாய் இருக்கும். அவர்களின் வாழ்வு இனி ஒருபோதும் சுவையற்ற, வண்ணமற்ற, கணிப்பற்ற வாழ்வாய் இராது, மாறாக, இயேசுவில் அது துடிப்பான, சுவையான, மனம்நிறைந்த வாழ்வாக மாறிவிடும்.
