*Take risk to be his disciple *
In the Gospel we find that the Word of God is spirit and life. Simon Peter, even though he has been impetuous and cowardly at times, but you can’t deny his deep love for Jesus. There were many disciples of Jesus but most of them found difficulty in accepting or believing His teachings on bread of life. Even though many left him and went, but only twelve remained. Jesus asked the twelve whether they too wanted to return. Peter makes a deep assertion of his faith as well as the faith of the twelve on His Word. Peter had no intention of walking away from his friendship, for he was convinced that Jesus was the Messiah. In one sense, Peter was being logical: where else could he go? Jesus was the only one whose words moved him, so it made sense to stay with him despite the teachings he couldn’t understand. But in another sense, Peter was speaking from conviction that went beyond human logic. His eyes had been opened and his reason was being infused with grace. He could have gone home and resumed his stable life of fisherman, but he decided instead to take a risk. Peter wished to risk everything on the Lord and so expressed his desire to remain with Jesus for his words.
நற்செய்தியில் கடவுளுடைய வார்த்தை ஆவியும் உயிரும் என்று நாம் காண்கிறோம். சீமோன் பேதுரு, சில சமயங்களில் அவர் துணிவுமிக்கவராகவும், கோழைத்தனமாகவும் இருந்த போதிலும், இயேசுவின் மீது அவர் கொண்ட ஆழமான அன்பை யாரும் மறுக்க முடியாது. இயேசு நிறைய சீடர்களைக் கொண்டிருந்தார், ஆனால் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் அவருடைய வாழ்வு தரும் உணவு பற்றிய போதனையை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளவும் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவும் தயங்கினார்கள். பலர் அவரை விட்டுச் சென்றாலும், பன்னிரு சீடர்கள் மட்டும் அவருடன் இருந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களும் திரும்பிச் செல்ல விரும்புகிறார்களா என்று வினவினார். பேதுரு இயேசுவின் வார்த்தையின் பேரில் தனிப்பட்ட முறையிலும் பன்னிருவர் சார்பாகவும் ஆழமான நம்பிக்கையை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார். பேதுரு இயேசுவின் நட்புறவை விட்டு வெளியேற விருப்பமில்லை, காரணம் இயேசுவே மெசியா என்பதை ஆழமாக நம்பினார். வேறு எங்க செல்ல முடியும் அவரால்? இயேசுவின் போதனைகளை புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியாமலிருந்தாலும் அவருடைய வார்த்தைகள் அவரைத் தூண்டியெழுப்பின, எனவே அவரோடு தங்கியிருக்க விருப்பம் கொண்டார். மற்றொரு கோணத்தில், மனித சிந்தனைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்ட நம்பிக்கையிலிருந்து பேதுரு பேசினார். ஏனெனில், அவரின் ஞானக்கண்கள் திறக்கப்பட்டது மற்றும் இறையருள் அவரை நிறைத்திருந்தது. அவரும் தன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்கு திரும்பி தன்னுடைய மீன்பிடிக்கும் தொழிலை தொடர்ந்திருக்கலாம், ஆனால், அவரின் முடிவு துணிவுகரமானது. பேதுரு ஆண்டவருக்காக எல்லாவற்றையும் இழக்க துணிந்தார், எனவே அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளை நம்பி அவருடன் தங்கியிருக்க விருப்பம் கொண்டார்.
