Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 1:45-51

Nathanael expressed his knowledge openly. And whatever he heard about, he challenged. Jesus called him a true Israelite. Jesus admired him. Jesus liked the character of Nathanael. He was a man who expressed his feelings and challenged the opinions of the others.

When Jesus expressed more than want a man could see and do, immediately Nathanael said you are the Son of God. Nathanael realized that Jesus was more than any ordinary person. Nathanael accepted that extraordinary powers are from God and only God can give to others. Nathanael is person who sees the natural things and ordinary things as they are; and sees the extraordinary things as of Divine origin.

இயேசு நத்தனியேலை உண்மையான இஸ்ரயேலர்> கபடற்றவர் என்று கூறுகிறார். தன் மனதில் உள்ளதை அப்படியே பேசினார்@ பிறர் பேசுவதை கேள்விகேட்கிறார் (உண்மையை அறிந்து கொள்ள). சாதாரண நிகழ்வுகளை அப்படியே ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார். இயல்புக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டதை (நல்லவைகளை) இறைவனிடமிருந்து வருவதாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்.

GOSPEL READING: JOHN 6:60-69

Discipleship is a gift of God. (“For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.”). Human efforts and human desires will never make one a disciple. Human efforts will make one to understand things in a human way only. This will lead to murmuring, leaving Jesus and going back to old ways and even betrayal.

But a man who has been chosen by God and has received revelation from God (it is not flesh and blood that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven) will cling to Jesus and to his words (Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life). These disciples will believe and be convinced and proclaim that Jesus is the Holy One of God.

உண்மை சீடர்கள் கடவுளால் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். தந்தையாகிய கடவுளால் இயேசுவுக்கு கொடையாக கொடுக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். மனித இயல்பினால்> விருப்பத்தினால் ஒருவன் சீடனாக முடியாது. அப்படியே விரும்பி வந்தாலும் அவர்கள் முணுமுணுப்பர்@ அவரை விட்டு விலகிப் போவர்@ காட்டிக்கொடுப்பர். கடவுளால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்கள் இயேசுவை நம்புவர்@ அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுவர்@ அவரை உலகறியச் செய்வர்.
