Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 11: 28-30

As a teacher he invites his followers to come to him (Come and see). The other teachers at the time of Jesus were hot and hasty. This was a great discouragement to those who were dull and slow. Jesus was compassionate on the ignorant: his disciples were the real samples of and specimen of people who were of low of learning.

As a teacher he was humble in heart. He was ready to come down to the level of the poor students. This shows that he did not choose his followers from the ranks of court and palace. He chose his followers from the streets: from the sea shore and from the tax offices. Meekness and humility should be the two qualities of the teacher who wants to educate the poor, ignorant, and the marginalized.

கனிவும் மனத்தாழ்மையும் ஒரு ஆசிரியருக்கு தேவையான அடிப்படை பண்புகள் என்று இயேசு இங்கு கூறுகிறார். மற்ற ஆசிரியர்கள் கோபத்தோடும் வேகத்தோடும் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கிறார்கள். போதனைகள் பல மாணவர்களைச் சென்றடைவதில்லை. அதேபோல் மற்ற ஆசிரியர்கள் தங்கள் உயர்நிலையில் இருந்து கொண்டு போதிக்கிறார்கள். இயேசுவின் போதனைப்பணி ஏழை> ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட> படிப்புத்திறன் அற்ற (சீடர்களைப்போல்) மாணவர்களுக்கே.

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 11:25-27

Jesus prayer is given here in this passage. Content of the prayer is very simple. He prays and thanks God for the gift of revelation to the children. God’s revelation is to the children and not to the wise and the learned. Because they believed in their learning and in their wisdom. They believed in their talents.

Children are those who always take things and accept things with a sense of wonder. They see the mystery behind the things. They see the God of creation behind the things. This is what makes them greater than the wise and the learned.

ஞானிகளும்> அறிஞர்களும் தங்களின் ஞானத்திலும்> அறிவிலும்> திறமையிலும் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிறார்கள். குழந்தைகள் தங்களை சுற்றியுள்ள படைப்புபகளில் இறைவனின் வெளிப்பாடை காண்கிறார்கள். தன்னை மறந்து படைப்பனைத்திலும் இறைவனை காணுதலே மிகச் சிறந்தது. அதிலேதான் இறைவன் போற்றப்படுகிறார் நன்றியும் பெறுகிறார். அதுவே ஜெபம்.
