Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: LUKE 11:29-32

People of this world and the people of this generation (of every generation) look for signs. People long for signs and wonders to believe in God and Godly activities. Any generation that asks for sign is a wicked generation. Even if signs were given they would not repent and believe.

Ninevites believed in Jonah and his preaching. They converted themselves without question. Jonah preached to a pagan nation and they accepted him as a prophet and accepted his preaching and converted themselves. Here Jesus, the Son of God is preaching and the people ask for a sign.

யோனாவின் அடையாளம்: அவர் ஒரு இறைவாக்கினர்@ அவர் இறைவாக்கை மக்களுக்கு எடுத்துக்கூறினார். இதை மக்கள் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டனர். அவர்கள் அடையாளம் கேட்கவில்லை. இயேசு இறைமகன். ஆனால் மக்கள் அடையாளம் கேட்கிறார்கள்.

GOSPEL READING: Mt 22:1-14

Kingdom of heaven is like a wedding feast. There is a celebration. Here feasting and celebration are not the most important things. But the invitees are the central points of the story. Kingdom of heaven has its relevance only if the people are there. Celebration will not go on with out the people around. Bride groom may be there and the bride also may be there but if the invitees are not there then there is no celebration.

Those who were invited were not worthy. There were not worthy not because they have not done anything (or done anything wrong) rather they did not join in the celebration. Their moral status was not discussed rather their presence was the most precious thing at the celebration. All what they have done (ignore, ill treat the servants etc) were only signs of their refusal of the invitation.

The celebration needed people because the time for the celebration was at hand. Everything for the celebration was ready except the invitees. He gathered the people from all over. Anyone and everyone are taken in. Because the celebration should go on. The servants were asked to gather the good and the bad. Only thing is that they have to be worthy for the celebration.

இறையாட்சி என்பது ஒரு கொண்டாட்டம். அது ஒரு விழா. மக்கள் கூட்டம் அங்கு இருக்கவேண்டும். அழைப்பை மறுப்பதுதான் தவறு. இறையாட்சிக்கு எல்லாரும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். அழைப்புக்கான தகுதியும் உண்டு.
