Breaking the Word

GOSPEL READING: MATTHEW 25:14-30

God does not want to keep things for himself. He is not possessive. He shares everything with his creatures. He has shared his goodness with them at creation. Now he shares his responsibility with them. He shares it with everyone but according to their capabilities. He expects that they return with their successes.

Men come back to give account of their efforts. Their responsibilities and their efforts are acknowledged by God. They are also rewarded for their efforts. Reward is in terms of further responsibilities. More works. But they also share the joys of the master. However master does not tolerate the lazy worker. He punishes him.

உலகைப் படைத்த இறைவன் படைப்போடு தன்னையே (நன்மையை) பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறான். பொறுப்பையும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறான். பொறுப்புள்ள மனிதர்கள் வெற்றியையும் அதன் பயன்களையும் கணக்குக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும். முயற்சி எடுத்து வெற்றி பெற்ற பணியாளர்கள் தலைவனுடைய மகிழ்ச்சியில் பங்கு கொள்கிறார்கள்.

GOSPEL READING: MARK 6:17-29

John was arrested and put in prison on account of the wife of his brother Philip. John had said that it was not lawful to marry the wife of his brother. John was telling what was requested of the people in the Ten Commandments (Ex 20:17 see also Lev 18:16). John was right in pointing it out to Herod.

John spoke the truth and he spoke the biblical truth and the truth was for the legal demands for life (Ten Commandments). John was a righteous man and he was also considered to be a holy man. John perplexed the people with his speech but they loved to listen to him. People like to listen to truth; and they like to associate with righteous and holy people. But truth hurts.

யோவான் உண்மையைப் பேசினார். விவிலியம் கூறும் உண்மையையும் வாழ்க்கைக்குத் தேவையான ஒழுங்குகளையும் பேசினார். யோவான் நேர்மையும் தூய்மையும் உள்ளவர். அவர் சொல்லைக் கேட்டு மிகக் குழப்பமுற்ற போதிலும்> அவருக்கு மனமுவந்து செவிசாய்த்தான் ஏரோது. உண்மைக்கு செவிசாய்ப்பார்கள் மக்கள்@ நேர்மையாளர்களோடும் புனிதர்களோடும் உறவாட விரும்புவார்கள். ஆனால் உண்மை சுடும்.
